Hyundai Hexa Space

Hyundai India is the second largest car manufacturer in the country after Maruti Suzuki. It has been surprising the consumers with a wide array of automobiles, be it Hyundai Santro that was an instant success or Hyundai Verna Fluidic, an absolute luxury on wheels. Now at the Auto Expo 2012, Hyundai unveiled its unique MPV that has the capacity to adjust 8 adults comfortably and the name justifies its highlights. This future MPV by Hyundai is known as Hyundai Hexa Space Concept. The reason it’s called Hexa Space is because inside the MPV, the seats are shaped hexagonally, just like the pieces of the puzzle in honeycomb pattern. This in turn capitalizes on the space consumption inside the car. All new Hyundai Hexa Space Concept MPV mainly targets the urban consumers falling in the age group from 30 to 40 years. The car design has bold character lines and contrasting surfaces, which further enhances the look of the automobile.

The seating layout in the Hyundai Hexa Space Concept is such that the first 2 rows of three vaguely spread out seats at the front along with a conventional two seat bench being positioned at the rear. This means that the middle seat in the front two rows is bit in the wake of the other two thereby facilitating the three side by side seating arrangements without any hassle or discomfort. The icing on the cake here is that all the seats could be folded flat to provide the passengers with amplified storage capacity.

Besides the stunning and unique, Hyundai Hexa Space Concept, Hyundai Motors India Limited also showcased its new premium sedan, Hyundai Elantra, Hyundai Sonata along with the three door version of its utility coupe, Veloster. The other successful car models by Hyundai in India comprise of Santro, Verna, Eon, i10, i20 and Santa Fe.

The new Hyundai Hexa Space Concept, codenamed HND-7 was designed under full surveillance of highly qualified engineers, which resulted in a unique and innovative design altogether. The rear door of the car lifts out and then skates back to generate a broad entry on each side. The design of the new Hyundai Hexa Space Concept is surely fresh and modish and has taken cues from Veloster concept. The grille is shaped in V format and is colored in black accompanied with sleek LED headlamps, square nose are the major highlights on the exterior of the car. The wheel arches are quite prominent; cabin is much like a cockpit that makes it exclusive on its own and the deep nostril fog lamps total out the entire look of the car.

The rear end of Hyundai Hexa Space Concept is pillar-less and is finished with the unique smoked glass, whereas the boomerang tail-lights design is outstanding. However, the car does miss out on the fluidic exterior as it is present in other Hyundai cars, such as Hyundai Verna, Hyundai Elantra, but this doesn’t matter as the look of the new Hyundai Hexa Space Concept is totally eye-catching.

Talking about the under the hood situation, the new Hyundai Hexa Space Concept comes powered with 1200cc of turbocharged kappa petrol unit, which delivers an awesome performance with the correct amount of power and torque. This 4.3 metre car has a wheelbase of 2750mm and the engine is coupled with the six speed automatic transmission.

However, Hyundai Hexa Space Concept is just the concept structure for the time being, when enquired about the production model, Hyundai Motors decided to be tight lipped on the topic. The pricing details also remain history for now. In case, Hyundai India launches Hyundai Hexa Space Concept in the Indian car market in near future, it might give a tough competition to Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
