Mahindra Xylo


Mahindra Xylo comes in three types of engine. the first one on the list is the powerful 2.5 litre of mEagle CRDe diesel engine is bold and has a 5 Speed Manual Transmission which offers smooth shifting of gears. The in-line type engine with 4 Cylinders is packed with Common Rail Direct Injection fuel supply system that offers free flow of oil and ensures smooth running of the engine. The high powered engine delivers a maximum power of 112 bhp at 3800rpm with 260Nm of maximum torque at 1800- 2200rpm. this powerful engine is fitted in two new variants of 2012 Mahindra Xylo, which comprise of E4 and E8.

The second engine is the 2.5 litre of mDI CRDe diesel engine, whose in-line type engine is packed with 5 Speed Manual Gearbox that offers better mileage and performance. The engine is endowed with 4 cylinders and common rail direct injection fuel supply system that offers free flow of oil and that ensures a good performance on the road. The high powered engine delivers a Maximum Power of 95 bhp @ 3600rpm with 220Nm of maximum torque @ 1400- 2600 rpm. this engine powered the new Mahindra Xylo D2 and D4 variants.

The third one is the 2.2 litre of mHawk engine is strappy as well and churns out about 120 PS of power at the rate of 4000 rpm along with generating 280 Nm of peak torque at the rate of 2400 to 2800 rpm. This engine has been cleverly mated with five speed manual transmission that in turn assists the car to deliver an impressive mileage of 13 km per litre. This engine is available in the top end E9 variant of the 2012 Mahindra Xylo MPV.


It is very important that every car is has strong braking and handling system not only to protect the passenger but also save the car from damages. Mahindra and Mahindra has taken this point into consideration and provided the new Mahindra Xylo with responsive disc brakes in the front and drum brakes at the rear. The front suspension of 2012 Mahindra Xylo is independent coil spring, whereas the rear suspension possess Multi- link coil spring. The car has a turning radius of 5.6 m and is coupled with ABS (Anti Lock Braking System) with EBD, which prevents the car and passengers in case of any accident or collision. However, the ABS with EBD system is only available in top-end E9 variant of 2012 Mahindra Xylo.
