Nissan Sunny


This Nissan sedan was codenamed L02B and it is based on the same ‘V’ platform as that of its hatch car Nissan Micra.Nissan Sunny was launched on September 20, 2011 in petrol engine option only and the company has launched two new diesel variants on 12th December, 2011. In total there are three variants of Nissan Sunny petrol and two diesel variants. Nissan Sunny is manufactured at the Nissan-Renault plant in Chennai where Nissan Micra is produced for India and exported to other countries. Nissan Sunny petrol is powered by a 1.5 litre 4 cylinders and 16 valves petrol engine that produces 100 PS of maximum power. The engine produces around 134 Nm of torque like other 1.5 litre powertrains. With this engine configuration and a decent price tag, Nissan Sunny is in competition with the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Swift Dzire, Tata Indigo Manza, Ford Fiesta. The other powertrain in two variants namely XL and XV is also fuelled by diesel. Both these diesel variants are powered by a modern 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder K9K engine that churns out 86PS of power @ 3750 rpm and a maximum torque of 200 Nm @ 2000 rpm. Both petrol and diesel engines are affixed with a 5 speed manual gearbox. Apparently, K9K Diesel engine has debuted in Sunny throughout the world. The new sedan car in Indian auto market Nissan Sunny has shining exterior and eye-catching interior. The exterior of Nissan Sunny looks aggressive with larger headlamps, cute smiling chrome grille, separate fog lamp cluster and lower air intake. The Nissan Sunny has a sports car like body color rear view mirrors, body color mud flaps, door handles and bumper. The rear side of the sedan matches the sporty looks of the front with new style tail lamp cluster and designer slopes. 

Nissan Sunny has class leading interior  and comfort features. The car is fitted with dual tone dashboard integrated with instrument cluster, automatic / manual AC controls and vents, audio system. The instrument panel has four dials; out of these two central dials are bigger and the smaller ones are placed at each side. The dashboard has rectangular shaped AC vents and in-dash audio system. Front passenger glove box is also wide. The steering wheel of Nissan Sunny has mounted audio controls.  To enhance the interior appearance of Nissan Sunny, inserts at centre console, at door and rear centre armrest is also there. Other interior features include overhead console box, shift knob, panel box, foot operated parking brake, power windows, rear centre armrest with cup holders, keyless entry system, push button start/stop system, electrically adjustable outside rear view mirrors, etc.

The exteriors of the Nissan Sunny determine the acceptance of the product in one of the world's largest growing market i.e. India. Nissan Sunny exteriors reveal that it is sporty and aggressive; new design and bold lines dominate the outer appearance. The front fascia of Nissan Sunny houses large jewel-shaped halogen headlamps. Such lamps enlighten wider area with greater intensity as compared to conventional headlamps. This Nissan beauty has newly designed front grille, chrome finished slats and centrally positioned company emblem. In addition to these, Nissan Sunny is dressed with single slat lower air dam, found commonly in sedan cars in India. The round shaped fog lamp clusters are fitted in individual slots. The much talked about Nissan Sedan, Nissan Sunny is assembled with body color outside rear view mirrors (ORVMs), body color bumper, body match door handles and mud flaps. The waistline moulding is colored chrome or in body color. The outline of the each panel is bold and even adds to the distinctive look of the machine. The sedan is also equipped with alloy wheels and tubeless tyres for stylish look and safety respectively. Wide opening doors offer better passenger ingress and egress while muscular haunches, stylish curves and a neat rear spoiler adds a sporty touch to the silhouette.
